Tokyo Ghoul:re is one heck of a series. From the start, you are taken on the world of Sasaki Haise, and the Quinx squad. The story, at the beginning, was quite confusing, having no context about the actual series at all. However, the pieces start to fall in much later, and the story gets more in depth than before.

Tokyo Ghoul √A, a sequel that loses intensity and coherence. Indeed, it's disappointing overall, even though it's still enjoyable to follow the series' protagonists. The season diverges significantly from the original manga's storyline. Additionally, Ken Kaneki is no longer the central character, and some characters lack depth.
