' National Automobile Racetrack Monza ') is a 5.793 km (3.600 mi) race track near the city of Monza, north of Milan, in Italy. Built in 1922, it was the world's third purpose-built motor racing circuit after Brooklands and Indianapolis and the oldest in mainland Europe .
When was the track built? Constructed in just 110 days in 1922, the Autodromo Nazionale Monza was the world’s third purpose-built race track, coming after Brooklands in the UK and Indianapolis in the US.

9 de mar. de 2023 · A relatively simple layout means that Monza has always been a record breaker in terms of speed. Peter Gethin's win in 1971 was achieved at a record-breaking average speed of 150.7mph.
Perhaps the more classic Monza layout was established in 1976, when a new chicane was installed at the della Roggia curve and a left-right-left-right chicane sequence created at the end of the Grandstand Straight.
