Humans are sentient mammals/non-objects that don't appear in Battle for Dream Island; instead their role is taken by anthropomorphic objects. In early episodes of Battle for Dream Island, humans seemed to be absolutely nonexistent in the BFDI universe. However, later episodes seemed to imply human existence.
Anyone who enters the Underworld are 3D and have human-like faces and limbs. Sometimes there are other changes too, such as Pin's face being located much higher than usual, and Robot Flower lacking a torso.
