Henry "Skipper" Franklin (born Henry Carl Franklin on October 1, 1940) is an American jazz double bassist. [1] [2] Career. Franklin played on Hugh Masekela 's 1968 number one single, "Grazing in the Grass," as well as with Masekela's band at the Monterey International Pop Festival in June 1967.
Henry Franklin released it on the album June Night in 2013. It was covered by Gloria Lynne with Wild Bill Davis and His Group, Damita Jo, Lisa Maxwell with the Keith Ingham Quartet, Bob Wilber with Dave McKenna and Pug Horton and other artists.
