Clare College is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge in Cambridge, England. The college was founded in 1326 as University Hall, making it the second-oldest surviving college of the University after Peterhouse .
Founded in 1326, Clare is the second oldest College in Cambridge, home to a thriving community of students and teaching Fellows from all over the world. Clare was founded on inclusivity, and was amongst the first Cambridge Colleges to become co-educational in 1972.
Clare can be found just off of King’s Parade, which is one of the main streets running through the city centre of Cambridge. The main university teaching sites, where students have lectures, seminars, and practical classes like laboratories, are all just a short walk or bicycle ride away.
Located along the backs in the heart of the city, Clare offers students an oasis of calm to call home. Our location is unsurpassed: the University Library is immediately adjacent to the College site, and many faculties and departments are also nearby.
