Sodom es un grupo alemán de thrash metal formado en 1981 en la ciudad de Gelsenkirchen por Thomas Such (alias Angelripper), en bajo y voz, y Frank Testegen (alias Agressor) en guitarras.
Biography. Tom is the founding member and main songwriter of Sodom. He formed Sodom with guitarist Frank "Aggressor" Testegen and drummer Rainer "Bloody Monster" Focke in 1982, in a desperate bid to get out of working in the coal mines that the three had worked in.

Obsessed by Cruelty is the debut full-length studio album and the second release by German thrash metal band Sodom, released in 1986. Two different versions of the album exist, the European and the American, which were released by Steamhammer and Metal Blade Records.
