This series was created for the final Rauschenberg Overseas Culture Interchange exhibition, ROCI USA, held at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., in 1991. Made at both Saff Tech Arts, Oxford, Maryland, and Rauschenberg’s studio in Captiva Florida, these works were executed with "fire-wax” (the term Rauschenberg coined for encaustic).
