BBC Worldwide Ltd. was the wholly owned commercial subsidiary of the BBC, formed out of a restructuring of its predecessor BBC Enterprises in January 1995. The company monetised BBC brands, selling BBC and other British programming for broadcast abroad with the aim of supplementing the income received by the BBC through the licence fee .

What BBC Studios does. BBC Studios comprises two world-renowned business areas: a content studio (which produces, amplifies and distributes IP) and a channels & streaming business.
BBC Studios works with hundreds of partners around the world to distribute our trusted content to global audiences. From watching BBC News at home, to consuming the channel live in-flight, or reading articles via one of our own platforms or syndication partners, audiences can access our content through more channels than ever before.
BBC Worldwide Limited fue la filial comercial de la BBC, formada tras la reestructuración de su predecesora BBC Enterprises en 1995. Se encargaba de explotar las marcas de la BBC y vendía programas de la BBC y otras fuentes británicas para su emisión en el extranjero con el objetivo de complementar los ingresos recibidos por la BBC a través del canon televisivo.
