Henry left Arsenal as the club's leading all-time league goalscorer with 174 goals and leading all-time goalscorer in European competitions with 42 goals; in July 2008, Arsenal fans voted him as Arsenal's greatest player ever in Arsenal.com's Gunners' Greatest 50 Players poll.
Fairly harshly too, as his initial shot did seem to be on target, but it was officially recorded as an own goal instead. So what is now goal 228 was, for a while, goal number 229. Either way, it was his final strike in an Arsenal shirt, with almost his very last touch as a Premier League player.
Thierry went on to become our all-time record goalscorer, and finally ended his Gunners career with 228 goals from 377 appearances, winning two league titles and three FA Cups. Between his two Arsenal spells he also won every honour available with Barcelona, and is now the head coach of the France under-21 side.
