They usually give you a list of a few major car rental car agencies and don’t tell you which one until you pay. Direct as the company I work for offers a better deal when booking direct, than third party sites.

Just use Turo. Easy peasy. I looked up online and got mixed answers.

  3. Please do NOT rent a car seat. You don’t know the history, cleaning, or anything that was done to it. If you’re flying, your kids obviously have their own seat so just take your seats on the plane with you. They should sit in a car seat on the plane anyway.

  4. 9 de nov. de 2019 · Things I learnt: Get a smallish car as many side streets are absolutely tiny. Google maps easily got us around Japan even though we understand little to no Japanese. Toll costs add up as we spent all up over 25,000 yen for the whole trip. Everyone speeds! Trucks, buses, cars all going easily 20km/h over the speed limit all the time.

  5. Always. Even when I totaled one of their cars, they were so nice to deal with. Never had any problems renting from Enterprise, just annoying that they not only put a $200 deposit on your cc but if you have any secondary drivers it's $200 as well. Understandable, but just be aware of that.

  7. 3 de mar. de 2022 · You rent a specific model vs class, which is nice if you want a specific model for space, ground-clearance, etc. reasons. I would give them a 9.5/10, I'll mention the few small issues not because they were problems, but just for completeness. We used them for a 7 day Ring Road trip with a Subaru Forester.

Costs (for entire trip): Rental car = $631, Gas = $416, Hotel = $400. EDIT: This will be my first time driving long distance, and it will only be me (31F) and my 80 lbs / 8 month old puppy.

Uber is great for local trips. A rental for day trips for touring the island is good. We rent a car to go to El Yunque for example.

Maybe rent a car for a couple of days to go to the north shore one day, and for the other, maybe Sandy’s beach, walk to Makapu’u lighthouse and tide pools, lunch in Kailua, go to the Byodo-In Temple, and come back by the Pali Overlook.
