Dungeon Meshi plays with a lot of tropes common in ttrpgs, but it is not really based on DnD specifically. It expands on the idea of old-school dungeons with lots of (more or less randomly placed) traps and monsters by making the dungeon an ecosystem and giving the place a backstory that explains this design.
