If anything Akaza is the one that wants the distance because it’s game over for him if he gets close to Gyomei who is the strongest hashira. Both characters do have range, Gyomei with his weapon and Akaza is obvious. However, Akaza can’t do much upclose despite his martial arts background because Gyomei is just insanely strong.
Even though akaza isn't faster than kokushibo he can just use compass Or maybe use attacks like disorder to deflect moons away if douma somehow ties kokushibo in his ice vines akaza can just use annihilation to implicit damage. Douma has bodhisattva and clones of same skills as him plus he can just use some ice attacks to hold kokushibo off.

17 de nov. de 2021 · Akaza has killed one of the most fav character in most people s opinion, but still, almost everyone (including me) loves him because he s amazing. After his flashback Akaza instantly became my favorite Upper Moon and one of my favorite characters period. The way he went in the end really messed me up, too.
25 de nov. de 2021 · Kokushibou values Akaza more due to Akaza being more like him, more of a Master - Apprentice situation there. Being Upper Moon 2 would give extreme buffs including speed and strength. If anything Douma is faster than Kokushibo, meaning Akaza is put of the question.
The only person he actually dislikes is the sexist, manipulative, preying, sadistic Douma who has no respect or compassion to anyone. This is my best demon from the anime, I really like his history and motivation. I can say without spoilers: Akaza is very fair and just people, is not the demon. He's alright.

The fight starts with Akaza finding Itadori because he knows he's a demon slayer. Round 2: Both have their manga feats. I've never read the mangas so I don't know how this would change their fight.

It's even implied that while Akaza has never seen a human with no battle spirit, he has met a demon with such a characteristic. I believe this demon to be Doma. It was most likely this same situation that allowed Doma to win against Akaza in their blood battle.
