Timothy Bottoms first entered my radar screen in the late '70s in the 1975 film "Operation Daybreak" It was about the assassination of Nazi SS General Reinhard Heydrich. Great little movie! He was one of the first "I think I might be gay" moments I had when I saw him in Rollercoaster.
28 de jun. de 2024 · The same interviewer asked Cybill about it and she just laughed it off, like "Oh, that's Tim doing his Tim thing again!" In a more recent interview, he came off as extremely bitter, saying things like Jeff Bridges is a phony and is only a bigger star because he plays the "Hollywood game", while he (Tim) refused.

Bottoms was the lead while Bridges was considered supporting and was Oscar nominated in the supporting category. Ben Johnson and Cloris Leachman won Oscars, but the work of Eileen Brennan and Timothy Bottoms is even more cherishable.-The Telegraph. by Anonymous.
13 de ago. de 2023 · Sublime. Ellen Burstyn was fabulous. My favorites, though, are the two Bottoms brothers, Timothy and Sam. Any other Bottoms fans on DL? (Please, no bottom jokes, for the love of God.) Timothy Bottoms, as elder gays will recall, starred with that great gay actor, John Houseman, in The Paper Chase. Good thread choice, OP!
8 de mar. de 2020 · R21, Houseman was born in Romania, came to the US in his 20s and became a US citizen in his 40s. And he was not hammy in The Paper Chase but may have appeared to be on the verge of hamming when the fussy academic nature nearly overcame hammy Prof Kingsfield, his character. There are some good shower scenes with Timothy Bottoms.

16 de nov. de 2019 · I seem to remember reading that there was a little flirtation going on between Cybill and Tim Bottoms. He gifted her a copy of the book "Daisy Miller" that she took to Peter Bogdanovich as a possible follow up movie for her (gee, thanks a LOT, Tim!).

There's something distasteful about a lesbian woman (non-binary, of course) giving her movie a title that immediately conjures images of gay male sex.
9 de nov. de 2021 · I read The Front Runner in a Gay Lit class I took in College back around 2005. I do think it's something of a forgotten gay classic and even when I read it 15 or so years ago, a lot of it's themes (like gay marriage) were shockingly relevant.
