Like here: Soft Hyphen on unicode explorer. Of course, the character you should copy is invisible, so that makes it a little difficult I guess :) But it still works. Right-click and copy. You also don't need to render text containing a soft hyphen in any special way (like "DangerouslySetInnerHTML" with React).

I also can't deny that you may hear "more shy" from time to time. I don't think shyier would be right. But Artrella's suggestion looks good to me.

In BE, shier is more common, in fact I don't think anyone would say more shy. As for the spelling, I'd say shier but since noone agrees you would be fine with either.

Once bitten twice shy to me means that after something bad/unfortunate has happened once, you will avoid it a second time. So 'Gato escaldado del agua huye' is a perfect equivalent.

The problem computers run OS X (multiple versions) and the problem occurs in both Chrome and Safari (multiple versions). Computers with exact same OS and browser version can show this differently.

It' can be used to disparage (the only expression that pops into my mind now is "a few bricks shy of a load", which means someone's mental capacity is somewhat lacking). Or it can simply state a fact (":the car stopped a few yards shy if the intersection").
