So, basically: scum. Scalpers are people who buy limited release items and then sell for 2x or even 3x the normal price. They buy a ton of graphics cards so the only place you can buy them is from the scalper. This lets the scalpers sell $700 graphics card for over $5000.
I feel like I get judged for defending scalpers, when that is not my intention. I'd like to understand why scalpers = bad but capitalism = good. Because if you like it, it is capitalism, if you don't like it, it's abuse. I'm with you, I see nothing wrong with scalpers. If people don't like them, then don't buy from them, it's as simple as that.

All LEGO sets have a limited time release, even if it’s years, so taking even one set off the market for the pure intent to resell for a profit should meet the definition of scalping. A lot of people seem to think “scalper” means “anyone who went to the store and bought something before me.”.

Appears, TS ain't as popular as expected and in the end, whatever the price is, only 500 end up buying tickets. Since Ticketmaster announced, after having furnished their scalpers through the backdoor, that it was sold out..
Scalpers are a symptom rather than the underlying problem. Scalping is only possible when something there isn't enough of is sold for less than people are willing to pay for it. Scalpers connect people who are willing to pay more with the thing that is in short supply, then pocket the difference.

Period. lmao remember that guy who spent 100,000 on buying all the hand sanitizer at the beginning of the pandemic then tried to re-sell on amazon for a profit and amazon banned him.

Actually, the best way to stop scalpers is to stop buying from scalpers. No scalper is ever going to buy a dozen gpus if no one will buy them for anything but msrp or less. i agree fully.

To them scalpers are (technically) customers so they don’t care. If they’d truly care what their fans want, they’d come together and come up with a plan for everyone to buy one. But nope. Money is everything. Dunno why people value it too much. It’s important, yes, but not worth fucking people over.
