John Polkinghorne (Weston-super-Mare, 16 de octubre de 1930 - Cambridge, 9 de marzo de 2021) [1] fue un físico y sacerdote anglicano británico, presidente de Queens' College, de la Universidad de Cambridge, y exprofesor de Física Matemática en Cambridge.

John Polkinghorne fue un científico y teólogo británico famoso por sus contribuciones en el campo de la física cuántica y la teología cristiana. Nacido en 1930, Polkinghorne estudió física en el Trinity College de Cambridge, obteniendo su título de doctorado en 1955.

With his death at 90 in March, the interdisciplinary field of theology and science has lost one of its most distinguished pioneers, John C. Polkinghorne. His luminary career in physics began when John entered Trinity College in 1949 where he specialized in quantum mechanics and was lectured by Paul Dirac.
