Sawyer Brown is an American country music band. It was founded in 1981 in Apopka, Florida, by Mark Miller (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Gregg "Hobie" Hubbard (keyboards, vocals), Bobby Randall (lead guitar, vocals), Joe "Curly" Smyth (drums), and Jim Scholten (bass guitar). [2] .
26 de mar. de 2019 · Growing up in Apopka, Sawyer Brown keyboardist and singer Gregg “Hobie” Hubbard had a pretty big dream, but he wasn’t sure it would ever come true. The dream was a career in music – playing the piano, singing, and writing.
Gregg "Hobie" Hubbard (born October 4, 1960) is the keyboard player for Sawyer Brown. He is one of the founding members of the band and has also written or co-written several songs for the group.
The band got its start when Ohio-born singer/songwriter Mark Miller hooked up with Gregg "Hobie" Hubbard while both men were studying at the University of Central Florida in the late 1970s. After moving to Nashville in 1981, Miller and Hubbard formed the band Savannah along with bassist Jim Scholten, guitarist Bobby Randall, and drummer Joe Smyth.
