Synopsis. One year after the conclusion of the last film (Part 7), a boat's anchor hits an underwater power line cable, causing a short circuit at the bottom of Crystal Lake. As a result, the undead serial killer Jason Voorhees (Kane Hodder) is resurrected once again.
A couple of scenes have child Jason's ghost attempt to pull a character down whilst underwater. Jason's face is shown and may be frightening to some people. After Jason has toxic waste thrown at him, he makes a scary sound.
Over the years, the story of Jason drowning in the lake probably morphed into some kind of urban legend so with her uncle telling her that if she doesn't swim Jason will drag her down, then when she starts to drown, she might very well have imagined that Jason was pulling her down.
(at around 27 mins) After Rennie sees Jason's child ghost the first time, she leaves her room and the camera pans down the hall to reveal Jason emerging from behind a door with a dartboard on it. Before Jason is shown, look into the pictures beyond the door and you'll see a crew member signaling for Jason to make his appearance.
Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan is a better one out of the second half of the series. In this movie, Jason finds himself a stowaway on a cruise ship full of high schoolers bound for New York City.

(at around 1h 28 mins) In the diner the man Jason throws into the mirror is Ken Kirzinger who would go on to play Jason in Freddy vs. Jason (2003). Kirzinger also doubles as Jason in a few brief shots in this film.
There's a scene in which someone reaches out of a watery mirror, similar to the scene in Evil Dead in which Ash reaches his hand into a watery mirror. Title reference. The hallucinations were made to rival the Elm Street franchise. Jason kills someone by drowning them in a barrel of toxic waste.
