Labyrinth fue formada en 1991 con Franco Rubulotta (Frank Andiver-Batería), Luca Contini (Ken Taylor-Teclados), Andrea Bartoletti (bajo), Andrea Cantarelli (Anders Rain-Primera Guitarra), Carlo Andrea Magnani (Olaf Thorsen-Primera Guitarra), Fabio Tordiglione (Joe Terry-voz).
Completing the line up Mat Stancioiu (drums), Andrew McPauls (keyboards) and Andrea "Tower" Torricini (bass). In its first three years, the band released two albums and started touring (South American Tour in December 2000), where for the first time an Italian heavy metal band got the chance to play (and sold-out) in countries like Argentina ...

In 1997, Frank Andiver (Franco Rubulotta) and Ken Taylor (Luca Contini) left the band (however they took part in the composing of "Return to Heaven Denied"); and Rob Tyrant (Roberto Tiranti), Mat Stancioiu (Mattia Stancioiu) and Andrew McPauls (Andrea De Paoli) were brought in as their replacements.
Already the opening piece "Moonlight" presents the symphonic speeders in full flight, with new singer Rob Tyrant, new keyboarder Andrew McPauls and new drummer Mat Stancioiu (great Italian pseudonyms), fantastic acoustic guitars, which foreshadows their more progressive influences on the whole album.
