Steps in order. Make a shortcut for GTAV if you have not already. Right click the shortcut. Select properties. In the "target" box, add -scOfflineOnly to the end. It should look like: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\PlayGTAV.exe" -scOfflineOnly. Fucking youtubers and their intros, I swear.

Hey there, I was trying to play some GTA V today, and saw it needed an update (im on steam btw), so I updated. but when I tried to open the game a little alert popped up saying "rockstar launcher failed to initialize". I pressed ok, and the next alert said "gta v could not open, try reinstalling".

Then go to the folder where the GTA V Rockstar launcher version is installed and click GTAVLauncher. It will then launch the Rockstar Launcher and after logging in it'll launch the game immediately.. I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous.

Does that have to do with me using Parallels Desktop or Mac? Before Parallels I tried on CrossOver and it worked ok-ish, but I did remove CrossOver in favor of Parallels. I tried reinstalling CrossOver on my Mac but Rockstar Launcher cannot even launch this time around. So I'm just stuck here. I have already approached Rockstar's customer service.
28 de ene. de 2023 · Do you should have a Rockstar Games folder and a GTA V folder for your modded install. Now what basically happens, is that your non modded install will still be updated and run with Rockstar Launcher, and because you still have Rockstar launcher installed to a legit copy, that mod makes it so you can launch your modded version and your game is still verified by the launcher on startup.
10 de ene. de 2023 · Thank you in advance! Even if you buy it on Steam, it's still going to install the Rockstar launcher and launch through Rockstar anyways. If getting your achievements and hours counted on Steam isn't important to you, I'd say go with the Rockstar launcher. I just purchased from steam during this holiday sale.

I have played gta 4 and it worked I already varified the game files in steam I have already deleted the launcher/social club twice. I can open the launcher and pick gta 5 but when I press play it goes to steam, then does nothing.
14 de feb. de 2020 · If I remember correctly, the new name does not matter as long as Rockstar Launcher cannot find "Steam" folder. I might renamed it to something like "Steam_" right before I play; and renamed back to "Steam" after I finish playing. Nowadays my launcher does not require this kind of renaming by the way. Note that I don't have Gta V on Steam.
