The DS-II is built on the same "SF-VI" frame as the SF-VI model, and is in fact nothing more than the SF-VI with a new barrel stamp and a slightly thicker top strap to increase strength. The DS-II was available with a 2 inch barrel and a very few 3 inch and 4 inch barrels.

The Colt Detective Special was the first revolver issued to French customs agents, meant to replace the old Browning 10/22 and MAB D pistols. They were used from 1975 to 1988, being progressively replaced by Smith & Wesson revolvers (mostly the S&W model 13) along with French Manurhins and the Sig Sauer SP 2022 in 2005.
The SF-VI/DS-II is a modern version of the Colt Detective Special using a new stainless steel frame, with various simplifications meaning that it was easier to produce and didn't require hand fitting as was the case with the original Detective Special.
14 de may. de 2018 · The DS-II was only made a couple of years before Colt stopped production. Just like the SF-VI. Both basically Colt's versions of a stainless steel D-frame Detective Special but with a much improved trigger pull. They're really nice shooters and are prized to own by some collectors.
1 de feb. de 2017 · The trigger pull on this revolver is pretty darn good with a very smooth double action pull of just under 8 pounds and a single action pull of 4 pounds. The sights are the standard ramped and serrated front sight with a wide rear notch on the top strap, just in front of the hammer.
