Youtubers and other social platform made most of these sites irrelevant. Metacritic agregated scores have a much bigger influence in making ppl buying or skipping a game. NeoIkaruGAF and Three.

Citing three sources familiar with the move, the publication says Ellis was emotional when initially speaking to staff after the game’s launch, when it was clear that it was going to be a major failure.

Some sources I've spoken with blamed a head in the sand mentality carried over from the studio's Bungie roots. A sense the game would come together because the team was too good to fail. Thers this thing among western devs that they see themselves above criticism, and when players call them out they attack the players with "bigots", "phobes", "cisms" white privelege, etc ,etc, not to mention the hundreds activists that infiltrated the videogame industry but hate gamers, especially if they are white and males.
