The Gibson G-101 (or Gibson Portable Organ, also known as the Kalamazoo K-101) is a transistorised combo organ, manufactured in the late 1960s by the Lowrey Organ Company for Gibson.
I have for sale an extremely clean example of the legendary Kalamazoo K-101 combo organ. While this is the same instrument as a Gibson G-101, the company originally branded these organs as Kalamazoo early on in production.
4 de ago. de 2015 · The organ seems better built than many combos, probably due to Lowrey’s longer experience in building organs, and the ability to spec relatively robust parts from Lowrey home organs. With its tab switches and front modesty panel, the G-101 is often mistaken for a Farfisa Compact series organ.
8 de feb. de 2012 · I'm interested both in using actual serial numbers to estimate the number of Gibson/Kalamazoo organs produced, and also to see if there's a pattern of which organs had the large logos. So, I you have either a Gibson G101 or Kalamazoo K-101, can you post the serial number and indicate whether it has that large logo on the audience side?
