Esmond was married to Olivier between 1930 and 1940; they had one son, Tarquin Olivier (born 21 August 1936). During their marriage, Olivier had affairs with Ann Todd [12] and Vivien Leigh , the latter to whom he was married from 1940 to 1960.
In the book and movie, Scarlett wears her mother’s wedding dress. Since the engagement was so short, there was no time to alter the gown before the wedding. Walter Plunkett, the costume designer for Gone With The Wind , took this into consideration when creating the wedding dress.
