Wayne is a city in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. A western suburb of Detroit, Wayne is located about 18 miles (29 km) southwest of downtown Detroit. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 17,713. Wayne has a long history of automotive and transportation related manufacturing.
