My idea of how the collector would possess Luz is that Luz makes a deal with them to stop Belos: The collector is most likely only into Belos plan because theyll get a body in return/get unbanished from whatever shadow realm kings dad yeeted them into.

Ever since the charity livestream, I thought the Collector might either be related to Luz or posses her, due to the similarities in hairstyle and facial structure. But after some thinking, I have a possible alternate to that theory.
Or maybe have the collector just choose to possess her whenever they want to be in control, oof that angst of Luz and any other cast member that at any moment Luz will go all chaotic and murdering and then back to sweet old Luz.
