A series of stop-motion animated segments produced by Jane Aaron, featuring ornate cutouts of the numbers 1 through 20 growing from (and receding into) the surface in a variety of park and city scenes. The segments appeared by Season 23 at earliest. The music is composed by Dave Conner .

The Number of the Day premiered as a daily segment on Sesame Street in Season 33, which aired in 2002. The sequence originally featured the Count playing a musical scale on his organ to get to the number of the day. The numbers 0-20 have been represented as numbers of the day.

Count von Count (known simply as the Count) is a Muppet character on the PBS/HBO children's television show Sesame Street. He is meant to parody Bela Lugosi's vampiric character, Count Dracula. His first appearance on the show was on the 4th season in 1972, where he counts blocks in a sketch with Bert and Ernie.
