John Harris Behan (October 24, 1844 – June 7, 1912) was an American law enforcement officer and politician who served as Sheriff of Cochise County in the Arizona Territory, during the gunfight at the O.K. Corral and was known for his opposition to the Earps.

Known to have a common-law marriage with Josephine "Sadie" Marcus, later Earp. He held titles as the Sheriff of Cochise County, Arizona Territory, as Member of the Territorial Legislatur, as well as a Prison Warden.

Behan was appointed the first sheriff of the newly created county in February 1881. The mining boomtown of Tombstone was the new county seat and Behan's headquarters.
