5 de may. de 2019 · In 1998, the producers of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine sought out an actor to portray a new recurring character, Vic Fontaine. The sage, talented, 20th century-style holographic lounge singer was introduced offering advice about life, love and the ladies to Odo ( Rene Auberjonois ) in the sixth-season episode “His Way.”
Vic Fontaine is a fictional character who appeared in the sixth and seventh seasons of the American science fiction television series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Portrayed by James Darren, he is a holographic representation of a 1960s-era Las Vegas Rat Pack–style singer and entertainer, as part of a program run in the holosuites at Quark's bar.
His role in Deep Space Nine inspired his return to singing. Many of his vocal performances on the show were re-recorded for the album This One's from the Heart (1999). [15] The album shows Darren, a close friend of Frank Sinatra , [16] comfortably singing in the Sinatra style.
