Michael Afton (also known as Mike Schmidt and Eggs Benedict) is the main protagonist of the Five Nights at Freddy's game series, first appearing with his real name in Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location. He is one of the sons of William Afton, and older brother of Elizabeth Afton and Crying Child.
Unlike his counterparts in the games, Mike Schmidt in the movie is not an Afton. Mike bears similarities to Charlotte Emily from the novels. Visual similarities include having brown eyes and brown hair. Both had their brothers kidnapped by William Afton as children.

Yes, but Michael was in FNaF 3, so there's a likely possibility that he knew that William could survive the Trap, meaning he would want to survive to make sure William is dead, adding on the fact that in the Unused FNaF AR emails, there is a "mafton" and in Ruin, in the graffiti in the first chapter, some text says "Mike" he is likely still alive.
