She was a very special Jaeger like Gipsy and Romeo, and only special Jaegers are laid to rest in Oblivion Bay. She was mentioned in Pacific Rim Aftermath, a comic that sets 10 years after the Kaiju war.
My best theory could be that it's just standard procedure for a Jaeger's conpod to be detached at oblivion bay, as there are several other conpods there too obviously. It's probably not hard to detach it since it's meant to be separate until the drop procedure that we saw happen with Gypsy and her conpod.
