15 de jul. de 2022 · Greenfield exploration, also referred to as grassroots exploration, is when new mine sites are located in unexplored or currently undeveloped areas. Ore genesis models are used to predict where mineral deposits can be found.
Grassroots exploration programs are the very first step in what is commonly called greenfield exploration. Greenfield exploration is the process of looking for mineral deposits in previously unexplored areas or in areas where they are not already known to exist.
A second key difference between brownfields and grassroots exploration is the amount of data available – especially data in the third dimension. In the case of grassroots exploration, there is generally only broad-scale information available on the local geology and the structural setting.
