Ocean Vuong (born Vương Quốc Vinh, Vietnamese: [vɨəŋ˧ kuək˧˥ viɲ˧]; born 14 October, 1988) is a Vietnamese American poet, essayist, and novelist. He is the recipient of the 2014 Ruth Lilly/Sargent Rosenberg Fellowship from the Poetry Foundation, 2016 Whiting Award, and the 2017 T. S. Eliot Prize.
Biografía de Ocean Vuong. Nacido en Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, Ocean Vuong pasó un año en un campo de refugiados en Filipinas junto a su familia y, en 1990 con tan solo dos años, emigró con ellos a Estados Unidos tras conseguir asilo.
Ocean Vuong is the author of the novel On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous and the poetry collections Time is a Mother and Night Sky with Exit Wounds. He is a MacArthur "Genius" Grant recipient, a New York Times bestseller, and a professor at NYU.
