Abū al-Ḥasan Sarī (al-Sirrī) bin al-Mughallis al-Saqaṭī (867 CE) also known as Sirri Saqti ( Arabic: سري السقطي) was one of the early Muslim Sufi saints of Baghdad. [1] He was one of the most influential students of Maruf Karkhi and one of the first to present Sufism (tasawwuf) in a systematic way. [2]
Sirri Saqti was the Mureed (disciple) and Khalifa (successor) of Hazrat Maroof Karkhi (May God be pleased with him), from whom he inherited profound spiritual insights. He, in turn, became the Murshid (master) of the renowned saint Hazrat Junaid Baghdadi (May God be pleased with him).
Hazrat Sirri Saqti was the Imam (Leader) of the Ahle Tasawwuf (people of gnosis) and he possessed in-depth knowledge of religion and spirituality. Despite his stature and knowledge, he was blessed with extreme kindness.
