Ramesh Bais (born 2 August 1947) is an Indian politician and is the 23rd governor of Maharashtra since 2023. He also served as the governor of Jharkhand from 2021 to 2023 and the governor of Tripura from 2019 to 2021.
Former Jharkhand and Tripura Governor Ramesh Bais has been appointed as the Governor of Maharashtra after President Droupadi Murmu accepted Bhagat Singh Koshyari's resignation on Sunday morning.
Shri Ramesh Bais was appointed as the Governor of Tripura on 29 July 2019, the post he held till 13 July 2021. He was then transferred to the post of Governor of Jharkhand on 14th July 2021. On February 18th, 2023, Shri Ramesh Bais assumed charge as the 20th Governor of Maharashtra.
