Sir John Flasby Lawrance Whittingdale OBE (born 16 October 1959) is a British Conservative politician serving as Member of Parliament (MP) for Maldon (and its predecessors) since 1992. He served as Culture Secretary from 2015 to 2016.

Sir John Whittingdale is a Conservative MP for Maldon and a Minister of State in the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. He has previously served as Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport and as Minister for Media and Data.
