Philip Paul Miller (22 January 1949 – 18 October 2017) was an English progressive rock/jazz guitarist and a central part of the Canterbury scene. He was born in Barnet , Hertfordshire . Self-taught on guitar, Miller formed his first band, Delivery , at age 17, which backed blues musicians playing at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London. [2]
Phil Miller, on his first solo album (Why did he wait so long?), along with Hugh Hopper, Elton Dean, Pip Pyle and Pete Lemer (with Dave Stewart and Barbara Gaskin in a side role), created an album of first rate jazz rock fusion.

Discography. The following will eventually become the most comprehensive discography of Phil’s recorded music. We have currently still some way to go, and thank you to everyone who has submitted our omissions and errors, we will be adding and correcting these as fast as we can.
Now the free blowing is contained within Phil’s own complex but tuneful compositions, described in City Limits as “full off subtle melodic twists and textural shifts, without ever losing the listener along the way.” SPLIT SECONDS confirms Phil’s status as one of England’s foremost jazz composers.
