Tony MacAlpine (n. Tony Jeff MacAlpine, [1] 29 de agosto de 1960, en Springfield, Estados Unidos) es un guitarrista estadounidense que mezcla elementos del metal neoclásico y el jazz. Tony MacAlpine (born August 29, 1960) is an American musician and composer. In a career spanning four decades, he has released twelve studio albums. MacAlpine is best known as an instrumental rock and heavy metal solo guitarist, although he has worked with many different bands and musicians in guest appearances and collaborations.

3 de may. de 2012 · He querido, en este nuevo artículo, hablaros de dos discos que para mí cambiaron mi manera de ver la guitarra y la música en general durante aquellos años en los que comenzaba a estudiar con Tony Hernando; se trata de los dos primeros álbumes de Tony MacAlpine: Edge of Insanity del año 1985 y Maximum Security de 1987.
TONY MACALPINE is widely regarded as a big influence to the neo-classical metal genre of the 80s, helping the genre to develop, but often adding in blues and jazz fusion elements in too and the result was some of the earlier known prog metal made.
