Jody Harris is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter and composer who was a central figure in the no wave scene in New York City in the 1970s. He played in the Contortions, the Raybeats, the Golden Palominos and other bands, and collaborated with Robert Quine, John Zorn and others.

The result was Escape, first released in 1981, a groundbreaking album of D.I.Y. musicianship and a snapshot of two musicians at the start of their careers.
