Walter Fenner "Buck" Leonard (September 8, 1907 – November 27, 1997) was an American first baseman in Negro league baseball and in the Mexican League. After growing up in North Carolina, he played for the Homestead Grays between 1934 and 1950, batting fourth behind Josh Gibson for many years.

Buck Leonard was a star first baseman for the Homestead Grays in the 1930s and 1940s, batting .345 with 95 home runs. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1972 and was a civil rights advocate until his death in 1997.

29 de ene. de 2012 · Buck Leonard was a first baseman and manager for the Homestead Grays, one of the most successful teams in the Negro Leagues. He was nicknamed the "black Lou Gehrig" for his defensive skills and batting average, and was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972.
