Ningali Josie Lawford (1967 – 11 August 2019), also known as Ningali Lawford-Wolf and Josie Ningali Lawford, was an Aboriginal Australian actress known for her roles in the films Rabbit-Proof Fence (2002), Bran Nue Dae (2009), and Last Cab to Darwin (2015), for which she was nominated for the AACTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role .

The Indigenous actor Ningali Lawford-Wolf and star of Sydney Theatre Company’s The Secret River has died at the age of 52 while on tour with the company in Scotland. Her family and STC issued a statement on Wednesday saying that Lawford-Wolf had died on Sunday.
Ningali Lawford-Wolf (1967–2019), Wangkatjungka actor and dancer, began her career as a dancer at the Aboriginal Islander Dance Theatre, later performing with the Bangarra Dance Theatre. Her award-winning 1994 one-woman show Ningali toured internationally in 1995.
