The Swedish band Carptree are lifelong friends (Niclas Flinck and keyboardist Carl Westholm) who in 1997 decided 'to combine good, and sometimes catchy, melodies with more dramatic and progressive arrangements.' In 2001 they released their self-titled debut to some mixed reviews.

With him are collaborators and friends from earlier projects, including drummer Lars Sköld (Tiamat, ex-Avatarium).
JUPITER SOCIETY is a Swedish project lead by Carl Westholm (CARPTREE, KRUX). He planned and wrote a science fiction themed concept album, and involved a plethora of musical friends, mostly from the metal environment, to record it.
