He is best known as the founder of the rock band Survivor, as vocalist and guitarist in The Ides of March, and as co-writer of the anthem "Eye of the Tiger", the theme from the 1982 film Rocky III .

17 de jul. de 2023 · Jim Peterik of the Ides of March was on stage at the Des Plaines Theatre on Sunday afternoon when he collapsed. He’s expected to make a full recovery.
20 de jul. de 2023 · Peterik was playing guitar and singing with the Ides of March about 4:30 p.m. Sunday during the “Cornerstones of Rock” show, featuring the Buckinghams, New Colony Six, Ides of March and Cryan Shames when he collapsed as the band kicked off its 1970 hit “Vehicle,” the last song of their set.
