"Flowermouth" features guest performances by prolific names such as Richard Barbieri, Chris Maitland, Mel Collins, Robert Fripp and Ben Coleman. Stylistically the material on the album is ambient and slightly experimental pop music.
El elenco no podía ser más atractivo. Por un lado, se pudo contar con Steve Jansen y Richard Barbieri, ex-Japan y viejos colaboradores de la banda a los que se añadieron el bajista Silas Maitland y el batería Chris Maitland, habituales en los directos del grupo.
Steve Jansen and Richard Barbieri had previously worked with No-Man on tour and in the studio, and it was a delight to us that they were willing to come back for more. All the musicians involved in making Flowermouth brought vital contributions to the music, proving that quality and pain needn’t necessarily go hand in hand.
