Brow-of-the-Hill School was founded in 1854 by the Christian Brothers (a Catholic lay ministry) to educate poor and destitute boys living in the Bogside area of the city of Londonderry.
The Christian Brothers school was founded on a model first adopted in Waterford in 1802 to educate the illiterate and exploited young boys from poverty stricken backgrounds.

The following is a list of the schools, colleges, and other educational institutions founded, run or staffed (in any capacity) by the Congregation of Christian Brothers (sometimes called the Irish Christian Brothers) since 1802. Some schools no longer exist, some are incorporated into new schools and some have changed their names.
