Angels & Electricity is the fourth studio album by Eddi Reader released in the UK on 11 May 1998. The album has provided Reader with some of her most popular songs including "Kiteflyer's Hill", "Bell, Book and Candle" and "Please Don’t Ask Me to Dance".
Hewerdine also co-produced Eddi Reader's 1999 album Angels & Electricity and her 2003 album Sings the Songs of Robert Burns. His other production work includes albums with The Corrs, Heidi Talbot, and Laurie Freelove. He co-wrote and produced Chris Difford's 2008 album The Last Temptation of Chris.
Written with longtime collaborator Boo Hewerdine, the song appears on her 1999 album Angels and Electricity. It fits neatly into both singers’ collection of songs about fragile relationships, expressing doubt about a lover’s intentions.
Simple Soul is the fifth studio album by Eddi Reader released in the UK on 29 January 2001. The album is a lot more stripped down than its predecessor, Angels and Electricity being predominantly folk and acoustic based. Many of the songs were co-written with longtime collaborator Boo Hewerdine .

Boo Hewerdine has been a songwriter and performer for over thirty years. At the age of 19 he signed his first record deal. Later, his next band, The Bible, released the cult album Walking The Ghost Back Home.
