This is her first solo album, and her debut for Myrios Classics. Interwoven with three rarely heard suites by Max Reger, Zimmermann offers transcriptions of two Bach cello suites.
Tabea Zimmermann (born 8 October 1966) is a German violist who has performed internationally, both as a soloist and a chamber musician. She has been artist in residence of the Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Tabea Zimmermann was twice awarded the Echo Klassik as Instrumentalist of the Year: 2010 for her solo CD with works by Reger and Bach, 2014 for the CD with works by Hindemith Vol. 1 for viola and orchestra, both published by myrios classics.

Ten years after her acclaimed album Solo with the first two cello suites of Johann Sebastian Bach, violist Tabea Zimmermann now sets her sights on Suites Nos. 3 and 4. She pairs them with excerpts from György Kurtág's cycle Games, Signs & Messages , selecting six numbers to form her own personal homage to Bach.
