  2. Brett Ascott known as Buddy, is a British musician, percussionist and record producer best known for his contributions to The Chords and The Fallen Leaves. Self-taught and inspired by The Who's Keith Moon, Brett "Buddy" Ascott began his musical career playing drums with SE London punk band, The Meat at the age of eighteen in 1977.

  3. Budstock “One ginormous ego-trip” to celebrate the 60th birthday of Brett ‘Buddy’ Ascott (his words, not mine I hasten to add…) was an idea 10 years in the making. Originally mooted for his 50th birthday, the plan was to get together some of the bands he had drummed with over the years for a one-off gig.

  4. In his place came Brett "Buddy" Ascott, and by March 1979 The Chords were taking the stage. They gigged continuously over the spring and summer, headlining two mod festivals at London's Marquee Club and recording their first BBC Radio 1 session for DJ John Peel in early July.
