Jashodaben Narendrabhai Modi (née Chimanlal Modi; born 1952) is a retired Indian school teacher. She is the wife of Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India. The couple were married in 1968 when she was about 17 and Modi was 18. A short time into the marriage, they were separated in 1971.
At an infant age of 3, she was engaged with Narendra Modi. She was married to Modi when she turned 11 years old. Later in 1968, at the age of 16, she married Modi according to her family customs. After her marriage, she left her studies and came to live with Modi.
