13 de feb. de 2023 · There isn’t a lot to say about Dilla, hip-hop’s most prodigious artist, that hasn’t already been said. In his brief but brilliant 32 years, Dilla ripped up the rule book: anecdotes from artists that saw him at work describe him as an alien who came down from space with an MPC and a box of 45s in hand.
If any of the three Dillanthology discs seemed particularly early upon arrival, it was the third volume -- the one focused on Dilla 's own releases. Over half of its material comes from releases that were, at the time, no older than three-and-a-half years.
